About The Position

Are you an experienced veterinary technician who loves being on the floor, supporting patients, and helping others grow but does not necessarily want a heavy management or desk focused role? Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Senior or Lead Veterinary Technician to serve as a hands on clinical leader in our brand new, beautifully renovated hospital located in the heart of New York City. This role is ideal for an LVT who wants to remain highly clinical while also being a trusted resource and mentor for the technician team. We recently moved into our new facility at 374 6th Ave, New York, NY and are excited to continue building a strong, collaborative technician team. Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician in New York or an experienced tech actively working toward licensure (within ~6 months)
  • 3+ years of clinical experience (senior-level experience preferred)
  • Strong in anesthesia, surgery, and patient care
  • Enjoys mentoring, teaching, or supporting teammates — even informally
  • Team-oriented, steady under pressure, and solution-focused

Nice To Haves

  • Vetspire experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Formal leadership titles are a plus, but not required. If you’re the tech others naturally turn to — we would love to connect with you!

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality technical care in appointments, surgery, and diagnostics
  • Serve as a go-to resource for technicians and assistants on the floor
  • Support training and onboarding of new team members (with leadership support)
  • Collaborate closely with doctors to maintain gold-standard care and workflow
  • Help model best practices, organization, and calm efficiency during busy days
  • Build strong relationships with clients through clear, compassionate communication
