About The Position

Join Our Team! Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician at Ford Caputo Veterinary Hospital, a 5-doctor AAHA-accredited practice. We are seeking a full-time LVT to join our progressive, compassionate, and growth-focused team. This position is ideal for those who are passionate about patient care, learning, and being part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
  • Ability to manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
  • Ability to endure sitting, standing, and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and arm-hand-finger dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Avimark practice management software.
  • Familiarity with Heska in-house lab equipment and Imagyst AI cytology reader.
  • Interest in physical therapy services.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and assist or perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring.
  • Place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, and administer IV fluids.
  • Provide in-patient medical care including cleaning, feeding, and walking patients as needed.
  • Prepare, induce, maintain, monitor, and recover patients during anesthesia/surgery.
  • Provide patient dental care, ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, and assist with dental surgery.
  • Position patients and assist with radiographs, sending radiographs via email.
  • Collect, prepare, and run or submit samples for requested tests; read and record results.
  • Prepare invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools.
  • Communicate with clients for hospitalized patients, providing updates and follow-up.
  • Teach/educate clients on at-home care procedures.
  • Assist with outpatient appointments, preparing, restocking, and cleaning exam rooms.
  • Answer phones, book appointments, and admit/discharge patients as needed.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
  • Inform inventory manager when products are low/out, unpack, and restock supplies.
  • Prepare prescriptions and dispense medications.
