Ford Caputo Veterinary Hospital, a 5-doctor AAHA-accredited practice, is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) who is passionate about patient care, learning, and being part of a collaborative team. The position offers a 4-day work week with rotating Saturdays and a positive, growth-minded environment. The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The role involves fully utilizing skills in phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and more, while working with state-of-the-art technology and a wide range of veterinary services.

  • Administer medications and assist or perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring.
  • Place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, administer IV fluids, and care for in-patient medical needs.
  • Prepare, induce, maintain, monitor, and recover patients during anesthesia and surgery.
  • Provide patient dental care, including ultrasonic cleaning and assisting with dental surgery.
  • Position patients and assist with radiographs, sending radiographs via email.
  • Collect, prepare, and run or submit samples for requested tests; read and record results.
  • Prepare invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools.
  • Communicate with clients regarding hospitalized patients, providing updates and follow-up.
  • Educate clients on at-home care procedures.
  • Assist with outpatient appointments, including preparing, restocking, and cleaning exam rooms.
  • Assist with reception/front desk duties as needed.
  • Train and mentor new team members.
  • Assist with inventory control and prepare prescriptions.
  • Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
  • Ability to manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and arm-hand-finger dexterity.
  • Ability to work in noisy conditions and endure sitting, standing, and walking on hard surfaces.
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance.
  • Familiarity with Avimark practice management software and Heska in-house lab equipment.
  • Interest in continuing education and professional development.
  • Compensation of $21 - $25/hour, commensurate with experience.
  • PTO - 80 hours, with additional PTO based on years of service.
  • Holiday Pay - 48 hours for recognized holidays.
