Position Summary A Lead Kitchen Steward oversees the kitchen stewarding team and ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety are maintained. The role includes supervising daily stewarding operations, assigning tasks, training staff, monitoring hygiene and HACCP compliance, managing cleaning schedules, and ensuring proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment. The Lead Kitchen Steward supports kitchen and culinary teams by maintaining an efficient, organized, and safe kitchen environment while ensuring smooth operations during service. This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$24.00 Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matching This position will remain open until April 17, 2026. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (hospitality certification is an advantage)
  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Steward or similar role, with supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen sanitation, hygiene standards, and HACCP procedures
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate a stewarding team
  • Familiarity with proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Good understanding of health, safety, and food handling regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Good communication and basic reporting skills
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and workstations
  • Collect and properly dispose of trash and food waste
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and stored safely
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP where applicable)
  • Assist in preventing cross-contamination by maintaining clean work areas
  • Comply with health and safety regulations at all times
  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic tasks when needed
  • Help with receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies
  • Transport kitchen equipment and food items as required
  • Operate dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment safely
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to supervisors
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of kitchen tools
  • Ensure the kitchen is ready before, during, and after service
  • Work efficiently during peak hours
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and kitchen management
