About The Position

Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets.  Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad. Position Summary:  The Lead Journeyman is a senior skilled tradesperson responsible for leading job-site activities while actively performing trade work. This role provides technical direction, ensures quality workmanship, and supports supervisors by coordinating crews, maintaining safety standards, and keeping work on schedule.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading crews on construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of trade methods, materials, and safety standards
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on site
  • Valid driver’s license (commercial license an asset)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • High standards for safety, quality, and productivity
  • Ability to mentor and motivate crew members
  • Physically capable of performing trade work in demanding conditions

Responsibilities

  • Perform journeyman-level trade work in civil, industrial, or construction projects
  • Lead and coordinate daily work activities for journeymen, apprentices, and laborers
  • Interpret and execute work from drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure quality standards are met
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with all site requirements
  • Identify and resolve technical or workmanship issues on site
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the crew and supervision
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and evaluating apprentices and junior workers
  • Track materials, tools, and equipment needs
  • Report progress, issues, and manpower needs to the Foreman or Superintendent
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
