Lead, J Cafe
About The Position
The J Café Lead ensures that our poolside snack bar operates in an efficient, safe and customer-focused manner. The Lead has supervisory responsibilities during scheduled shifts in terms of training and coaching employees along with front-line responsibilities such as taking orders, preparing food, stocking, cleaning etc. Schedule Works approximately 10-20 hours per week, including daytime and/or evening and weekend hours. Requirements
- Able to train employees on proper food storage, preparation and service
- Able to train employees on food preparation and processes that ensure Kashrut is maintained
- Able to use and teach others to use technology such as point-of-sale system, scheduling software, etc.
- Food Service experience desired but not required
- Previous lead/supervisory experience desired
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Demonstrates J Values
- Customer-service oriented
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Requires constant standing and walking during shifts, typically up to 4 hours
- Some bending and reaching to access supplies or when cleaning, sweeping, etc.
Nice To Haves
- Food Service experience desired but not required
- Previous lead/supervisory experience desired
Responsibilities
- Through hands-on work and through supervision of others, ensure J café maintains adequate stock, operates on approved procedures, and provides quality Kosher food products to customers
- Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the J Café and outside seating spaces
- Learn, train and monitor procedures related to food safety and employee safety
- Know and uphold rules and regulations for Fitness, Sports and Aquatics Departments
- Help respond to member concerns and in a timely and appropriate manner
