About the position
The Lead IV Technician is responsible for assisting in various clinical tasks within a healthcare setting, ensuring patient care and operational efficiency. This role involves direct patient interaction, support for nursing staff, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The technician will work closely with the Clinical Nursing Director and other staff to provide quality care and manage supplies effectively.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vitals.
- Restock supplies and manage inventory.
- Assist in laundry duties as needed.
- Maintain tally sheets for tracking purposes.
- Prepare vitamins for patient administration.
- Assist in setting up ozone therapy equipment.
- Provide distraction techniques for patients during treatments.
- Support Registered Nurses (RNs) with therapies.
- Coordinate with Patient Care Coordinators (PCC) and Customer Service Representatives (CSR) regarding scheduling issues.
- Check patients out after their appointments.
- Review patient portal and voicemail for concerns related to therapies and scheduling.
- Perform insufflations as required.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in IV therapy or related field.
- Experience with patient care and support.
