About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Lead IT Network Administrator to join our team. This critical role will be at the forefront of designing, managing, and optimizing our enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity across our campus and affiliated locations. The Lead IT Network Administrator will oversee the design, implementation, and management of the university's enterprise network, which includes LAN/WAN cabling, data center networks, telephone/telecom, and converged communications infrastructure. This position is essential for maintaining high network performance, security, and reliability standards, which are crucial for the university's operations. In this role, you will lead the installation, configuration, and ongoing monitoring of network equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. You will also coordinate and manage network-related projects, from initial planning to implementation, working closely with IT leadership and stakeholders across the university. Advanced troubleshooting for network issues, including data access deficiencies, outages, and security breaches, will be a key responsibility, ensuring timely resolution of hardware and software problems to minimize disruptions. Additionally, you will administer and support the university's telecommunications systems, including PBXs, VOIP, call management systems, and video conferencing. As a leader, you will provide guidance and mentorship to junior network administrators, sharing industry best practices and fostering professional development within the team. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive network documentation and training materials to ensure consistent and informed use of network resources. Your expertise in network design, implementation, and management will be vital in supporting the university's mission and the needs of our students, faculty, and staff.
