About The Position

The Lead Irrigation Technician will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining irrigation systems with a strong commitment to quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and water efficiency. This role requires hands-on experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team Union: 32BJ Pay: $29.00 per hour. The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. Requirements

  • 3 plus years of professional irrigation experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, water management, and related technologies.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex irrigation issues.
  • Familiarity with major brands (e.g., Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, Weathermatic).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to consistent high-quality work.
  • Good knowledge of trenchers, multi-meters, wire locators, ditchers and pipe sizing are also essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Backflow certification (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, monitor, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems, including valves, controllers, drip lines, and sprinkler heads.
  • Perform system startups, winterizations, and seasonal adjustments.
  • Recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Diagnose and identify issues within the system, above and below ground.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, irrigation plans, and specifications.
  • Ensure all work meets industry standards and company quality guidelines.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and team members regarding project status, recommendations, and service needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
  • Operate tools, machinery, and service vehicles safely and responsibly, including underground.
