About The Position

The Lead Inventory Control Technician will maintain accurate records of IT inventory, supervise the deliveries and deployment of devices for students, manage the deliveries of technology refresh/renovation hardware, and supervise staff to support these tasks. The position will also monitor help desk requests and provide immediate assistance in the form of technical expertise for prompt resolution of issues or guidance on best practices as they relate to industry standards and/or department processes and procedures, particularly related to hardware inventory, configuration, and deployment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A+ and MCSA certifications required or must be obtained within first 6 months.
  • 3 years of experience with computer workstation configuration/setup.
  • 3 years of experience with computer hardware and software applications.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Experience maintaining and designing processes for the effective management of inventory.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Windows imaging as well as Chromebooks Zero Touch enrollment processes.
  • Intune autopilot knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with IT project managers, directors, and end-user support to ensure hardware is delivered and installed in a timely manner for student and staff use.
  • Maintains accurate records of break fix statistics and expenditures and provides updates to IT leadership staff as requested as well as on a quarterly basis.
  • Designs and implements effective systems to track Chromebook and Surface repairs and the cycle of devices to and from campuses as warranties are applied due to break fix issues.
  • Supervises staff for the timely completion of projects.
  • Effectively designs and implements processes for IT warehousing and inventory control.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex computer systems hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
  • Provides tier 1 and 2 support for technology operations and provides technical expertise and guidance to level 1 support personnel.
  • Monitors the service desk queue, updates issue statuses, documents issue resolutions, and closes service requests in accordance with service level agreements.
  • Analyzes and resolves technology issues using logic and creativity, following established procedures.
  • Supervises technology warehouse based on specific KPI metrics of support through the ticketing system.
  • Leads imaging and re-imaging projects.
  • Assists with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware.
  • Maintains accurate records of parts and hardware inventory.
  • Diagnoses and repairs equipment, including printers, terminals, and personal computers.
  • Services equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Maintains accurate updated records of preventive maintenance.
  • Maintains accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service.
  • Assists with maintaining technology inventory as required.
  • Schedules vendors for pick-up of equipment repairs or recycling.
  • Assists in moving, loading, and unloading inventory at various locations manually as required.
  • Performs R&D and remains knowledgeable of emerging trends in technology.
  • Attains and keeps current, relevant technology certifications.
  • Performs special projects, after-hours support and upgrades, and other duties as assigned.

  • Salary: Pay Grade TG03, $222.64 - $269.01 daily rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule.
