About The Position

The position is for a full-time Interventional Radiologic Technologist at Advocate South Suburban Hospital. The role involves working in the Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab departments, with a schedule of 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, and includes rotating on-call responsibilities after hours, on weekends, and holidays. The pay range for this position is between $40.30 and $60.45 per hour.

Requirements

  • Radiographer license issued by the Illinois Dept of Nuclear Safety.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months unless exempted.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in an Interventional Radiologic Technologist role.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a resource to employees and students, including training/orienting and providing day-to-day work direction.
  • Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work, monitors productivity, and maintains appropriate staffing levels.
  • Assists with human resource responsibilities, including interviewing and selection of new employees, staff development, and providing performance feedback.
  • Identifies performance improvement opportunities within the department and facilitates change.
  • Proficiently operates angiographic and ultrasound equipment for various procedures.
  • Serves as a scrub assistant during interventional and surgical procedures.
  • Identifies and processes images, ensuring diagnostic quality.
  • Oversees the maintenance of records in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Identifies equipment performance issues and performs quality assurance tests.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties.
