About The Position

The Lead Interventional Services is responsible for overseeing and performing advanced interventional services procedures, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety. This role involves coordinating technical operations, managing staff schedules, and maintaining quality assurance protocols. The lead collaborates with Medical directors, Imaging directors, and managers to achieve organizational goals, troubleshoot operational issues, and optimize efficiency. Additionally, the lead will play a key role in staff education, patient care, and maintaining the Joint Commission and ODH regulations.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
  • License / Certification:
  • Registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Valid State of Ohio Radiological License required.
  • Advanced registry by the ARRT in CI/VI required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Experience:
  • Five (5) years work experience in interventional services required; with interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, or surgery experience required.
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Able to perform professional duties with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibits leadership qualities consistent with Mount Carmel Guiding Behaviors and Cardiovascular Service Line culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Senior Interventional Radiographer or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise and Coordination:
  • Participates in regulatory readiness
  • Coordinates and leads staff education
  • Leadership and Staff Support:
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and optimize efficiency within the lab.
  • Manage staff schedules, on-call schedules, and supply inventories.
  • Assists in Kronos
  • Quality Assurance and Accreditation:
  • Ensures adherence to standards and protocols consistent with stroke certification, STEMI protocols, ODH, and Joint Commission Standards.
  • Actively participates in quality and safety meetings and is responsible for PI and KPI processes that support and are used to improve outcomes.
  • Gathers and organizes department QI/PI information.
  • Other Job Responsibilities
  • Participates in On-Call coverage as applicable.
  • Attends in-service programs and departmental meetings.
  • Follows guidelines for Radiation Safety as outlined in MCHS Radiation Safety Policy Manual.
  • Patient Care and Teaching:
  • Procedural education
  • Interventional department supplies and equipment education
  • Patient education
  • Self-direct and organize workloads.
  • Responsible for on-boarding and training of colleagues supporting Interventional procedures.
  • Coordinate work assignments, maintain competencies, and assist with staff education
  • Vendor contact and coordination for assistance performing in the interventional lab.
  • All other duties as assigned.
