About The Position

Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for UOP LLC. (Tulsa, OK) RESPONSIBILITES: Meet budgeted hours, planned schedule, and agreed-upon level of quality on assigned project work. Communicate with the project manager on required changes to budget, schedule, or quality level on assigned project work. Communicate with the project manager on progress on assigned project work. Keep up-to-date with current technology developments in the instrument-and-systems control area. Interface with customer to determine project instrumentation and control system requirements. Produce a complete definition of instrument requirements incorporating applicable code and customer requirements. Modify and review P&IDs Preparing instrument/controls detail design including; Instrument specifications and requisitions, Control system schematics, Loop diagrams, Logic diagrams and Control system narratives. Evaluate the instrument portion of supplier bids and participate in the supplier selection process. Review the control system design for conformance with customer requirements and applicable codes, and identifying inconsistencies. Coordinate with the fabricator throughout the fabrication phase of the project on instrument-and-control system issues. Inspect control system equipment and fabrication for conformance with project requirements and applicable codes. Inspect control system site construction for conformance with project requirements and applicable codes. Analyze and recommend solutions to technical problems in the control system functionality. Communicate key decisions made on projects to others. Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers.

Requirements

  • Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrument Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field, and 8 years of experience in process/project, operations, or plant instrumentation and controls.
  • Must have 5 years of experience with the following: Control System Design; NFPA compliant Burner Management systems; Programable Logic Controller Programing and Configuration; Instrumentation Design; Control Valve Sizing.
  • Up to 10-20% domestic & international travel required.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to two (2) times per week.
