Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of Power Generation Instrumentation and Controls experience.
  • Essential Professional Licensure.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety.
  • Ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Flexibility to a variety of schedules to meet business needs.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience leading a group of engineers.
  • Experience with power plant control systems.
  • Experience with Network and SCADA Design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Visio, Access, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instrumentation and control engineering support to client owners.
  • Develop criteria and specifications for new power projects.
  • Review documents generated by sub-contractors and equipment vendors.
  • Report and monitor construction progress.
  • Respond to questions from construction contractors.
  • Develop instrumentation and control design documents for power generation projects.
  • Coordinate with colleagues in other engineering disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, equipment vendors, and contractors on projects.
  • Provide field commissioning support on project start-up efforts.
  • Work independently and efficiently with little oversight.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct.
  • Adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
