The Lead Inspector A&P position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation involves leading and coordinating inspections of aircraft and components to ensure compliance with FAA/CAA requirements. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, along with 10 years of aviation maintenance experience, including 4 years of Gulfstream aircraft experience and 4 years of aircraft inspection experience. An A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license is required. The position is full-time and operates on a second shift from Monday to Thursday, 3 PM to 1:30 AM. The Lead Inspector will work as part of the Quality Control/Assurance team, ensuring that all aircraft are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required documentation properly completed and filed.

  • Responsible for Quality Control inspections on aircraft/components.
  • Directs and coordinates inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data.
  • Coordinates mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements on the aircraft during maintenance or outfitting.
  • Keeps accurate, neat and legible records of the work performed on aircraft/components.
  • Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner.
  • Conducts audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service.
  • Ensures aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities.
  • Mentors technicians on effective documentation.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 10 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical).
  • 4 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience.
  • 4 years of aircraft inspection experience.
  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Expert knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
  • Expert knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, shop mathematics and QC Procedures.
  • Expert knowledge and application of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control systems and methodologies.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Flight Safety Initial preferred but not required.
