About The Position

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer–Solace to join the Solace Engineering team. We design and engineer low‑latency Solace platform made up of Solace PubSub+ Event Brokers (Hardware Appliances) that support our most critical applications. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on Solace infrastructure engineer with a forward‑looking mindset centered around the 3As: Automation, APIs, and AI. You are a strong advocate of DevOps, SRE, and Agile practices and play a key role in designing and building a standardized, scalable, and resilient hardware‑based Solace platform. As a lead engineer, you will bring a strategic engineering mindset and deep experience managing complex enterprise infrastructure. In this role, you will collaborate closely with infrastructure teams and architects to design self‑service, highly available, and low‑maintenance platforms. You will also empower development and operations teams by building robust, value‑added tooling and automation through scripts and APIs. In this role, you will: Lead complex initiatives to design, build, and engineer infrastructure solutions supporting mission‑critical business applications Drive an automation‑first infrastructure engineering strategy, ensuring infrastructure is designed to be programmatically provisioned, configured, and managed Apply AI‑assisted engineering capabilities to accelerate infrastructure development, including code generation, configuration validation, design analysis, and standardization Participate in projects to modernize and evolve Solace infrastructure architecture, aligning with target‑state engineering principles Evaluate internal and external technologies, including AI‑enabled engineering platforms, to support infrastructure build, automation, and architectural goals Design infrastructure patterns and tooling that reduce manual effort and improv repeatability, reliability, and engineering quality Design, build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaboration with engineering teams Design, code, test, debug, and document infrastructure automation and tooling using Agile engineering practices Make technical decisions related to architecture, automation frameworks, AI usage, implementation plans, and engineering tradeoffs Identify engineering risks and dependencies early and define mitigation strategies through design and automation Direct daily risk and control activities, ensuring infrastructure engineering aligns with policies, procedures, and standards Recommend engineering approaches that improve cost efficiency, scalability, resiliency, and speed of delivery Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, managers, customers, and vendors to resolve complex engineering challenges.
