About The Position

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Lead Information Security Engineer – Cybersecurity in Charlotte, North Carolina. Essential Responsibilities: Job Duties: The Lead Information Security Engineer – Cybersecurity will implement and support security solutions and technologies to protect data/assets from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, destruction, modification, or disruption; security oversight, and risk management on IS projects; set security design guidelines, frameworks, and models; work to identify new security issues and risks; develop mitigation plans; help identify and document security objectives; provision, deploy, and manage applications across virtualized and cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring scalability, high availability, and security compliance; design and automate infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure, reducing manual provisioning and enabling reliable Infrastructure-as-Code practices; apply cloud security principles by configuring elastic network security, IAM roles, policies, and PaaS-native security constructs, ensuring compliance with enterprise and industry standards; design, develop, and test end-to-end features in object-oriented languages (Python), applying programming best practices; engineer and manage Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters, ensuring scalable, fault-tolerant, and cloud-native deployments; integrate security tools with CI/CD pipelines to automate vulnerability scanning, compliance checks, and secure delivery; implement observability solutions using ELK Stack, Splunk, proactive monitoring and incident response; and, collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams using JIRA for backlog tracking and Git-based workflows for code reviews and version control. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple Positions.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Information Systems: Cybersecurity, plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or related.
  • Must possess 5 year of experience with each of the following: designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable applications using Python
  • following Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • participating in code reviews and system design discussions
  • building CI/CD pipelines automate builds, testing, and deployments, reducing release cycle times
  • implementing AWS and Azure cloud solutions
  • automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management
  • developing and maintaining containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • enhancing system security through IAM, SSO, MFA, and policy management
  • implementing centralized monitoring and logging solutions using ELK Stack, Splunk, and AWS CloudWatch
  • authoring automation scripts in Python, Bash, and PowerShell
  • utilizing all of the following: AWS, Azure, GCP, REST APIs, Microservices, Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence
