Wood is currently inviting expressions of interest for a Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer for our expanding offshore brownfield engineering business based in Metairie, LA. As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in managing electrical and instrumentation engineering efforts for offshore brownfield projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across locations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions while efficiently managing workshare with remote offices. Your responsibilities will span from conceptual design through execution, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and innovation.

  • Lead and oversee all electrical and instrumentation engineering activities from concept through execution and closeout
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams across global locations to deliver project scope efficiently
  • Develop engineering deliverables including P&IDs, control system architectures, datasheets, and specifications in compliance with project and regulatory standards
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
  • Collaborate with project managers to define scopes, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress
  • Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors to resolve technical issues and obtain approvals
  • Participate in safety reviews such as HAZOP and SIL assessments
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to recommend optimal solutions
  • Support procurement by reviewing vendor proposals and ensuring compliance with specifications
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility in all engineering activities
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is required for the role. Willing to consider candidates who are willing and qualified to test for the PE certification within 6 months of employment
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, preferably in offshore oil and gas projects
  • Proven expertise in control system design and offshore production facility systems
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations including API, ISO, and OSHA
