About The Position

Holy City Heating & Air, LLC is growing and looking for a Lead HVAC Installer with a minimum of 3 years of experience and a confident, positive attitude! We are a full-service HVAC & Plumbing company located in downtown Charleston, specializing in residential and commercial repair, maintenance, and retrofit equipment. The Lead HVAC Installer is responsible for performing high-quality residential and light commercial equipment replacements, including air handlers, condensers, package units, and ductwork. This role includes leading an installation apprentice, ensuring safe and efficient jobsite operations, and delivering clean, professional workmanship that reflects the standards of Holy City Heating & Air. You must bring your own hand tools, micron gauge, and gauges. Candidates with their own vacuum pump, nitrogen regulator, recovery machine, and torches are strongly preferred. Installers must be able to work in hot environments, remove existing equipment, and install and start up new systems up to 10 tons.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum 3+ years of HVAC installation experience
  • Possess the hand tools necessary for the position
  • Ability to use Android/Apple devices for communication and field reporting
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces, etc.)
  • Ability to climb and descend ladders safely
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to finishing jobs efficiently and correctly
  • Organized, professional, and positive attitude
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining quality workmanship

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with their own vacuum pump, nitrogen regulator, recovery machine, and torches are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and produce accurate material lists and takeoffs
  • Install materials and equipment according to plans and manufacturer specifications
  • Interpret equipment submittals and installation manuals
  • Ensure installations meet code requirements and pass inspections
  • Communicate clearly with customers, team members, and subcontractors
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Provide management with accurate labor estimates for projects
  • Identify and document change orders when needed
  • Lead, mentor, and coach installation apprentices
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of HVAC industry standards and best practices
