About The Position

Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Lead Housekeeper for our Rehabilitation department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Lead Housekeeper, you will: Interact daily with patients, public, and employees to receive and/or provide information, and assist the management team with supervision of the housekeeping staff Assist with department QI initiatives Participate in appropriate housekeeping processes and procedures Maintain departmental housekeeping supplies Communicate any issues in a manner consistent with our values Provide a clean environment for all patients, public, and employees at Rockville Rehab Access the Non-Pharmacy medication areas in accordance with the Policy#101-01-180 Security of Medications in Non-Pharmacy Areas Ensure infection control protocols are followed in daily cleans, discharges/transfers, and ancillary areas, by following our Eight Step Cleaning Procedures

Requirements

  • A high school diploma/GED or relevant experience
  • 3 plus years of relevant experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to monitor assigned areas for necessary supplies and equipment
  • Basic arithmetic skills are required to maintain linen count

Responsibilities

  • Respond to calls to ensure timely cleaning and support across the facility in alignment with departmental standards and hospital needs.
  • Provide staff education and continuous training.
  • Function as Housekeeper throughout entity as needed.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections of housekeeping work and perform rounding on patients to ensure satisfaction and address concerns related to environmental services.
  • Provision and maintain supplies in housekeeping, generating ordering lists, to ensure department is properly supplied.
  • Support daily shift huddles to promote employee engagement, communication, and employee recognition.
  • Function as a liaison between incoming and outgoing shifts to provide a seamless transition, including preparing and providing end of shift transition reports as needed.
  • Assist director/manager with task assignment, including absentee coverage.
  • Submit work orders for maintenance repairs throughout the hospital and follow up for completion.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
