About The Position

The Lead Host at Le Colonial Denver is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience while managing the front of house operations. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively oversee the host team, manage reservations, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The Lead Host will be actively engaged in the dining room, ensuring that service standards are met and that guests feel valued and attended to throughout their visit.

Requirements

• 2 years of restaurant experience required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• ServSafe/Food Handler's Certification required.
• TABC Certification required.
• Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work as a team player and motivate staff.

Nice To Haves

• Cocktail experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with OpenTable is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be the main presence at the front door and roam around the dining room to communicate with servers, captains, and guests.
• Show guests to tables during lunch and dinner service, ensuring proper seating standards are applied.
• Greet and escort guests with a professional and positive attitude, ensuring a smooth arrival experience.
• Oversee the flow of guests within the restaurant and ensure seating protocols are followed by the host team.
• Ensure guests are greeted with a smile and that phone calls are answered promptly.
• Possess a full understanding of OpenTable and manage reservations effectively for the night.
• Know special requests, allergies, and VIP guests, and plot special tables accordingly.
• Maintain knowledge of all front of house positions and be able to assist in various roles as needed.
• Maintain the restaurant's ambiance, including lighting, music, cleanliness, and hygiene.
• Proactively address guest queries and complaints, maintaining a constant presence on the floor.
• Manage the scheduling of hosts and oversee table and server station assignments.
