About The Position

The Lead Home Delivery Driver will be responsible for primarily supporting open route coverage for scheduled/unscheduled absences for a given territory. Lead Driver will also support training for new team members and management of cold storage facility. Schedule: 4 day work week, Tuesday-Friday Pay: $22.00 per hour Travel to help cover routes in other territories is required as needed; can be up to 25% travel

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience
  • Ability to manage time and balance multiple priorities to accomplish goals
  • Excellent driving (DMV) record
  • Average computer skills for time and attendance tracking, signature tracking and ability to use a GPS system
  • Must be able to operate a smart phone and/or tablet
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including flexible hours
  • Experience utilizing e-mail and phone calls to communicate effectively
  • Strong, clear communication skills
  • Able and willing to work in variable weather conditions
  • Prior experience adhering to company policies and showing core values
  • Pass a post offer drug screen and background check
  • Pass a post offer MVR Lookup
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods
  • Able to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Able to perform repetitive movements
  • Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years previous supervisory level experience
  • 2 years in driving or delivery experience

Responsibilities

  • Train, motivate, coach, and develop employees to drive customer satisfaction, employee engagement, efficiency, performance, and compliance
  • Track and document employee performance both formally and informally
  • Safely operate company vehicle; obey traffic laws at all times
  • Load meals into company vehicle
  • Deliver meals to our clients, often taking meals into client’s home
  • Travel to help cover routes in other territories as needed; can be up to 25% travel
  • Manage daily deliveries and unsuccessful/returned product
  • Identify and complete routine vehicle maintenance
  • Supervise and assist all drivers in designated region
  • Train and interview delivery drivers within region
  • Schedule weekend re-delivery schedule; perform deliveries throughout the Tuesday-Friday week
  • Facility management of cold storage
  • Manage and keep records of cold storage inventory
  • Receive inventory into cross dock location, ensuring all is received and accounted for
