About The Position

The Histology Lead works under the supervision of the Laboratory Director to provide oversight of the histology department. The Lead is responsible for evaluating a caregiver's performance and ensuring that staff are competent. Works with the Laboratory director and Pathologists to determine goals of the department. Performs microtomy, stains, and monitors documentation, complies statistical data for management. Reviews QC, CAP surveys and department QA's. Evaluates new stains, trains new caregivers, writes procedure, and ensures CAP compliance. Rotates call as needed. Gives excellent customer service.
