About The Position

The Lead Histology Technician (HT) at Hartford HealthCare is responsible for supervising the performance and reporting of all tests conducted within the assigned division. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, oversees operational functions, and maintains quality service to all customers while actively participating in quality assurance programs and staff training.

Requirements

• Certified Clinical Medical Technologist (ASCP) specializing in Histotechnology credentialed from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Associate degree required, Bachelor Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Histotechnologist.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the department's daily work practices to assure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Performs financial activities, clerical and computer functions, staffing levels and competency of the division.
• Exercises responsible stewardship of finance and human resources.
• Ensures the department provides quality service to all customers.
• Oversees the department's operational functions to ensure optimal service.
• Participates in routine performance of procedures.
• Maintains continuing education standards and competencies per department policy.
• Actively involved in quality assurance program within the department.
• Assists in orientation and training of new staff and students.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
