Requirements

  • 6-10 years required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One or more of the following: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, COC, CPC, CCA, CCC, CIRCC, CCVTC required.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Lead and primary contact for the Coder II and Coder IIIs.
  • Assists the Assistant Director with oversight of daily operations of the Coding Team with scheduling and monitoring of Work Queues.
  • Ensures that aging accounts are monitored, rectified and processed for billing; strive to have accounts coded within the 4-day bill hold. Assist with review of denials.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in coding high acuity inpatient accounts with ability to support coding of hospital-based outpatient accounts including Cardiac Cath/Electrophysiology and/or Interventional Radiology to support Revenue Cycle goals for timely billing.
  • Utilizes International Classification of Disease (ICD-10-CM and PCS), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) including Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and other coding references to ensure accurate coding.
