We are seeking a skilled and experienced Level IV Lead Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in our main equipment shop located in Propsect Hill, NC. This role will involve maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment including Dozers, Loaders, Excavators, Pumps, and more, primarily from top brands like CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, Rokbak, and Hitachi all located in the Raleigh market area. This is a leadership position that requires not only technical expertise but also the ability to manage and cross-train the current team of technicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment repair and be capable of utilizing industry-standard software for diagnostics and maintenance. This is a hands-on role.

  • Lead and oversee the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, including Dozers, Loaders, Excavators, Rollers, Compactors, and Pumps.
  • Work with a team of technicians, providing guidance, leadership, and training.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Utilize CAT ET, CAT Vision Link, JD Link, and other diagnostic software for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Maintain a high standard of safety and quality in all work performed.
  • Ensure all equipment is serviced and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development of best practices and standard operating procedures for equipment repairs.
  • Work closely with management to schedule repairs and ensure equipment uptime.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on heavy equipment (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, Rokbak, Hitachi).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, Caterpillar, John Deere, etc.) are highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and repair.
  • Experience in repairing and maintaining A/C systems in heavy equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic welding repairs as needed.
  • Proficiency in CAT ET, CAT Vision Link, JD Link, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role is preferred.
  • A valid CDL is a plus.
  • Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively with the team and management.
  • Hourly Pay: $35 - $50 per hour depending on experience.
  • Work Schedule: 50-60 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with alternating Saturdays as needed.
