About The Position

U.S. Pavement is growing and hiring a Lead Mechanic! A Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy trucks, earth moving, and related construction equipment road graders, gasoline and diesel-powered tractors, dump trucks, and dozers and is responsible for supervising, training and leading shop mechanics. The salary range for this role is between $80,000-$100,000/yr, based on experience.

Requirements

  • Skilled and proficient with all small engine repairs
  • Skilled and proficient at large tractor truck diesels, including, CAT and CUMMINS engines, Large Diesel Peterbilt and MACK engines.
  • Skilled with Transmissions, exhaust systems, fuel systems, drivelines, differentials, hubs, and all other components of Brothers owned equipment including, pavers, millers, rollers, bobcats,
  • Experienced working on Bobcats / skid steer equipment
  • Advanced skills with Hydraulic systems and hydraulic schematic

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and runs diagnostics and performs repairs and scheduled maintenance on diesel engines and other machinery
  • Handles complex and major repairs on heavy machinery such as pavers, millers, rollers, bobcats and other company vehicles and oversees the work of Shop Mechanic.
  • Middle to advanced-level skilled Welder for all types of welding.
  • Responsible for Welding repairs as well as creating and building needed items out of metal
  • Work on field service calls with the highest quality and urgency in mind.
  • Mentor all mechanics on correct methods for repairs as training opportunities arise
  • Will be responsible for locking up and securing the shop and equipment at the end of the day as needed
  • Documents and maintains records of all maintenance perform on the job in our work order tracking software
  • High level of Leadership abilities and continued leadership growth
  • Maintain a Clean driving record
  • Maintain and uphold all Safety procedures and protocols set forth by the company
  • Keep up to date on your internal training and external training certifications
  • Maintain good communication with manager on equipment repairs and parts needed
  • Ability to work in a team and willing to be trained and train others.
  • Maintain good relationships with those you work with as a representative of U.S. Pavement.
  • Moderate computer skills
  • Must be able to take work order requests from internal customers and enter needed data into work order tracking software
  • Responsible for assigned shift per on-call rotation schedule.
  • Perform repairs at job sites as the needs arise.
