Position Highlights : 📍 Location: Charlottesville, VA 🕒 Full Time Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM EST 🏠 Hybrid: 1–2 on-site visits per month (Wednesdays) 💼 What You’ll Do As a Lead HIS , you will play a critical role in supporting daily operations and ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of medical information.

  • Assisting the Supervisor with inventory management, including Healthsource queue oversight and handling urgent requests
  • Serving as a resource for team members on medical record request processing, EMR navigation, SOPs, and workflows
  • Supporting client and internal escalations with timely follow-up and clear communication
  • Assisting with training and onboarding new hires, providing mentorship and guidance
  • Facilitating team training and ongoing education to reinforce best practices
  • Processing ROI/medical record requests accurately and confidentially
  • Communicating effectively with patients, providers, and clinical staff
  • Performing data entry, faxing, scanning, and other administrative tasks
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work on-site in Charlottesville, VA 1–2 times per month (Wednesdays)
  • Proficiency with computers, email platforms, and general office equipment
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
  • Prior healthcare, medical office, or HIM experience is a plus
  • Friendly, professional, and dependable
  • Punctual and consistent — attendance is essential in this role
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-changing environment
  • A strong verbal and written communicator
  • Skilled in navigating new systems and workflows
  • Experienced with ROI or EMR systems (required)
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred, but not required for the right candidate
  • Experienced in leading or supporting a small team (preferred)
  • Excited to grow in a healthcare or medical records setting
