About The Position

The Lead Health Information Management Analyst - Release of Information at Powers Health is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the release of information processes within the Health Information Management Department. This role ensures compliance with HIPAA, state laws, and organizational policies while serving as the primary point of contact for escalations, quality assurance, and team leadership. The position emphasizes maintaining high levels of accuracy and confidentiality in handling patient health information.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an HIM Department in a hospital or clinic setting required.
  • In-depth knowledge of HIPAA and federal/state release regulations required.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, Microsoft Office, and EHR systems required.
  • Knowledge of statistical methodology for conducting audits required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written required.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.

  • Previous release of information experience preferred.
