Moog is a performance culture that empowers people to achieve great things. Our people enjoy solving interesting technical challenges in a culture where everyone trusts each other to do the right thing. For you, working with us can mean deeper job satisfaction, better rewards, and a great quality of life inside and outside of work. Are you an experienced electronics project engineer looking for your next great opportunity? Moog Inc. is currently recruiting a Lead HW Project Engineer to support our Spaceflight hardware business in Gilbert, AZ! What we do: Moog's Gilbert AZ facility is a leading designer of spaceflight hardware and is a part of the Spacecraft Avionics business unit in the Space & Defense Group. Moog has partnered with NASA to provide electronic solutions for the Artemis Orion Crew Capsule, Viper Lunar Rover, Satellite Laser Communications Relay, OSIRIS-REX to study asteroid composition along with complete satellite buses for the defense department. We are seeking a mid-career electrical engineer (EE) to be the project technical lead and point of contact for customers on custom spacecraft avionics projects. Project scope includes architecture definition, design & development, component procurement, manufacturing, unit/environmental testing, and product requirement verification. The successful candidate will coordinate the work of electrical / mechanical / FPGA / software designers, test engineers, product delivery technicians, specialty design analysts, and other key members of a cross-functional project team in the pursuit of successful project execution. Working jointly with the program manager, the Lead HW Project Engineer shares responsibility for execution to cost and schedule targets throughout the course of a project. Facilitative leadership between program management, quality, and operations groups will be required in this role as the Lead HW Project Engineer ensures product development activities follow Moog's phase-gate process. Additionally, the Lead HW Project Engineer is responsible to manage stakeholder requirements, interpreting and deriving lower-level requirements as necessary, to ensure delivery of a product that meets all customer needs. This position reports to the Lead System Engineering Manager whose team is responsible for design and delivery of all Moog Space Avionics products that do not fall within the Integrated Avionics Unit product line (i.e., all custom products).
