We are committed to environmental sustainability, superior quality and excellent customer service. POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Hand will be working at the Hickson, Ontario processing plant. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, rotating shifts.

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing/operations
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and coaching skills
  • Decision-making using sound judgment and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Results-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and direction to the operations staff on the Day, afternoon and night shifts
  • Maintaining optimal production levels and notifying the Operations Supervisor and Plant Manager of equipment breakdowns or operating irregularities
  • Review and comment on daily operations and quality KPIs for afternoon and night shift operations - Develop and maintain a positive work environment using interpersonal skills, team building and open communication
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure Health & Safety policies are observed
  • Conduct safety-related tasks on back shifts
  • Provide safety training for employees on back shifts - Help develop SOPs and ensure they are understood and followed
  • Be flexible and hands-on when required for technical or production tasks - Provide daily relief for operators for lunches - Complete finished goods quality testing - Environmental monitoring and sampling
