About The Position

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Lead Hand will ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner, in accordance with the Company’s policies, procedures and values. Lead department in a shift to ensure safety, quality, delivery and productivity goals are met consistently. Lead the electrical assembly with the preparation and setup of workstations and materials for daily tasks. Update and lead the daily tier meetings with associates in accordance with RBS standards. Ensure work instructions, standards, and specifications related to tasks being completed are followed. Promote and practice Lean manufacturing processes as per RBS standards. Follow and drive consistent compliance with site ISO standards and practices. Participate proactively in Quality inspections of products to verify adherence to standards. Ensure all EHS procedures, goals, and site initiatives are followed consistently. Proactively promote the Regal Business Systems (RBS) and Values. Collaborate with extended team on investigations related to Safety, Quality, and other issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED required, technical diploma/certifications in electrical, manufacturing, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related manufacturing experience in electrical panel/switchgear assembly
  • Experience leading a crew of assemblers/technicians: assigning work, giving instructions, coaching, and providing performance feedback.
  • Strong knowledge in low/medium voltage switchgear assembly, wiring, and testing including reading complex electric schematics and work instructions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve practical electrical and mechanical problems on the line with limited standardization or precedent.

  • Must successfully complete employer-provided training during the first 5 (2 weeks in Canada-1 week in Arlington-2 weeks in Canada) weeks of onboarding; company will assist with documentation as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Ability to accurately prepare and enter data into spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work overtime when required
