The purpose of this job is to process merchandise and fuel transactions. Essential Functions include leading a shift of one-to-two cashiers to process all types of cash, credit, and debit transactions, completing end-of-shift reports and close out procedures, and following company and local guidelines with regards to the sale of any restricted merchandise items (i.e., alcohol, tobacco). The position also involves maintaining an organized and clean work area, using suggested selling methods to promote and sell products, and ensuring quality service is delivered to every guest. Additionally, the role requires handling guest complaints and issues by following company processes and guidelines, resolving team member conflict, and communicating issues to management. The employee will determine break schedules and team member placement during shifts, assist with other travel center functions such as maintaining the deli, cleaning showers and restrooms, stocking, making coffee, etc., and model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose. All activities must be in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and other duties may be assigned.
