About The Position

The Lead Forklift Operator role in our Nestlé chilled environment is crucial to optimizing the selection and loading process of Nestlé products. Your main responsibilities include the training of all operators on the assigned shift. The lead will help ensure accuracy of orders, achieving set target rates per hour, and upholding product integrity and quality standards throughout the loading process. Additionally, you will be utilizing various inventory and tracking systems, and your keen ability to recognize waste will be key in adjusting execution accordingly. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of service time with Nestlé Glendale is required.
  • Flexibility to work the assigned schedule, including weekends, holidays, and required overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with warehouse equipment, including forklift, rider pallet jacks, bomber, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Train operators and operate forklifts safely and efficiently in the order selection and loading processes.
  • Train operators and complete and maintain forklift certification.
  • Train operators and utilize the Tablet Picking system for accurate and swift loading onto delivery trucks, while maintaining quality inspection forms.
  • Prepare necessary documentation to ensure the highest quality finished product for customers.
  • Maintain performance expectations and identify opportunities for improving distribution center operations.
  • Recognize and address waste within the distribution center, contributing to the development of action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Learn and proficiently use inventory and tracking systems such as EWM and SAP.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, share ideas openly, encourage performance, provide feedback, and train new employees when required.
  • Ensure safe practices, follow corporate safety guidelines, use personal protective equipment, and address any observed unsafe conditions proactively.
  • Always maintain a high standard of housekeeping and safety compliance.
  • Trained operators on automation interactions and daily duties.
  • Perform and train others to do yard trailer checks.
  • Assist the shift supervisor with daily duties.
