The Lead Food Server takes food orders from restaurants customers, serves customers, and keeps assigned tables and areas clean and orderly. This position reports to a Supervisor or Manager. The Mkutano House is an upcoming restaurant concept built around community, connection, and exceptional guest experiences. We are seeking passionate, reliable, and service-oriented individuals who are excited to help bring this vision to life from the ground up. Requirements
- At least one year of Food Server experience working in a fine dining or full-service restaurant.
- Wine, beer, and cocktails
- Standard menu items and daily specials
- Cash handling procedures
- Safety and sanitation methods
- Inventory controls practices and procedures
- Reservation management systems
- Usage and care of standard kitchen equipment and utensils
- Guest service standards and policies
- Allergies and special accommodations
- Assists customers in making menu selections
- Deal tactfully and courteously with the public
- Communicate (verbal and written)
- Understand and carry out instructions
- Make simple arithmetic calculations
Responsibilities
- Take orders and serve food and beverages
- Prepare some food items, such as salads
- Advise customers regarding menu items
- Plan floor arrangement for catered events
- Serve tables at catered events
- Communicate with management staff on a daily basis
- Answer customers’ questions regarding the organization
- Make customer service a top priority
- Professionally handle difficult situations with employees and guests
- Model punctuality and professionalism
- Exemplifies the highest standard of work ethics
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required
