About The Position

POSITION PURPOSE: The 3rd Shift FSQS Lead will be the voice of FSQS on 3rd shift. The primary purpose of the third shift lead is to assist sanitation department during daily sanitation cycle, ensure FSQS lab/kitchen is prepared for daily operation and to lead the FSQS pre-operational sanitation team. As a member of FSQS, one shall always serve as a source of information regarding food and plant safety. All members of FSQS must be empowered to make critical decisions regarding equipment or employee performance when food safety or quality are compromised. QualificationsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED Compliance: Monitor and assist the sanitation team during daily sanitation cycle identifying and enhancing techniques or procedures to improve environmental sampling compliance rates. Perform daily and weekly review of Master Sanitation Schedule ensuring all areas have been satisfactorily cleaned and documented. Responsible for maintenance of the FSQS Lab/kitchen including nightly clean-up (lab, toolboxes, fryers), stocking supplies, and calibration of all monitoring equipment. Coordinate the pre-operational organoleptic inspection team ensuring that FSQS is on the floor in a timely manner ready to perform inspections when called by Sanitation Department Monitor corrective actions performed by the sanitation team for any out of specification environmental of Listeria sample. Perform audit of sanitation as requested and prepare a report for management team. Able to stand and walk for long periods, Lift up to 50 lbs., FSQS or Sanitation experience preferred. Communication: Communicates with facility FSQS Management, Sanitation Management and FSQS Technicians on a daily basis in order to facilitate the flow of essential information. Ensure daily recaps are completed accurately, in a timely fashion and communicated to the appropriate facility and corporate personnel. Team Building and Training: Work closely with facility leadership across all departments to maximize FSQS’s influence on product quality and food safety. Responsible for completing training for technician and technicians assigned to preform pre-operational inspections. Ensure that their subordinates understand job safety, SOP’s, documentation and HACCP requirements of their roles within the department. Champion any special projects assigned by the FSQS Manager or Superintendent. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Annual food and plant safety trainings are required The FSQS Lead shall attend and receive certification in Basic HACCP through any HACCP Alliance Certified program. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to move product cases or documentation file boxes. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time as well as extreme heat and cold in the manufacturing plant that may require a person to wear PPE to include freezer jackets, eye and ear protection, rubber boots and a bump cap. Production environments range in temperatures between -10 to 40°F. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Domestic travel by automobile and/or airline meetings or trainings will be required periodically.
