We have an opening for a Lead Floor Technician to work Full Time. Lakeview's Lead Floor Technician is responsible for performing special project work that includes floor care as well as other detailed cleaning jobs. The Lead Floor Technician will provide guidance to the Floor Technician team as well as ensuring that each job is completed to the highest standard.

Requirements

  • GED or High School diploma, preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of floor care experience.
  • The ability to follow/perform standard procedures to operate specific cleaning equipment including but not limited to buffers, strippers, vacuum cleaners, wet vacuum and extractor.
  • May require working early morning and/or evening hours as well as weekends and holidays to ensure projects are completed to limit disruption to residents.
  • Ability to read written documents, including but not limited to, Hazardous Material’s labels, daily task sheets, and Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
  • Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, carpet cleaning, stripping and waxing, buffing and burnishing floors, picking up and disposing of trash.
  • Works with the Environmental Services Management (ESM) to coordinate, assign and monitor Floor Technician’s team daily job tasks.
  • Coordinates special projects, and works with Lead Housekeepers and Floor Technicians to schedule and complete according to standards outlined.
  • Trains Floor Technicians in specific cleaning tasks and ensures tasks are being performed as instructed (i.e. entry protocols).
  • Trains and monitors Floor Technician’s proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), chemicals, supplies and equipment.
  • Utilizes and trains for proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants and solutions used for cleaning. Refers to manufactures instructions when necessary.
  • Tracks and stocks supply inventory for all housekeeping closets and ensures that the areas are kept clean and orderly and all chemicals are properly labeled.
  • Checks all equipment on a routine basis. Promptly reports worn or broken equipment to ESM.
  • Ensures that all area docks are kept clean and orderly to ensure a safe environment for employees and delivery personnel.
  • Maintains records including but not limited to training logs, carpet/floor projects. Trains and ensures Floor Technicians are completing project logs.
  • Reports any personnel or customer service issues to ESM.
  • Assists in preventing accidents resulting from snow or ice-covered walkways by shoveling or sweeping snow or ice from sidewalks and entrances, and spreading salt, sand or chemicals within the assigned area.
