Looking to drive your career forward? Join High Transit, where every move matters. High Transit in Lancaster, PA is looking for a 2nd Shift Leadperson for the Fleet Maintenance department . The leadperson is Responsible for the direction of a group of co-workers as set up by the Fleet Maintenance Manager. Responsible for the maintenance, scheduling and tracking of fleet equipment. May assume responsibilities of the Fleet Maintenance Manager in the event of their absence. Must supply own basic hand tools. This is a Monday-Friday with a schedule of 4:00PM-2:30AM (end time can vary)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and operational functions of all fleet equipment.
  • Must meet all criteria of a Fleet Mechanic A.
  • Must supply own basic hand tools.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written and be willing to establish both short and long term goals with a view toward advancement into a supervisory position.
  • Class 7 Pa. State Inspection License
  • Federal Inspection Certificat
  • Federal CDL drivers license Class A
  • Air Brake Adjustment Certification and R12 and R134A Refrigerant Handling Certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized training in management/supervisory skills preferred.
  • Experience with maintenance repair and tracking systems SAP or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with computers
  • American Welding Society Certificate preferred

Responsibilities

  • Complete various duties as required by Fleet Maintenance Manager.
  • Supervise and schedule work for all fleet and any other High company co-worker assigned to work in this department.
  • Oversee daily maintenance of equipment including washing and fueling of equipment.
  • Organize and conduct weekly tool box talks and shop checks.
  • Assist in training of all co-workers.
  • Review daily work orders for special notations regarding equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of parts for all equipment as required by Fleet Maintenance Manager.
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance records of all equipment.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with vendors.
  • Attend any meeting or functions as required by Fleet Manager or High Transit LLC Management.
  • Responsible to retain and renew all certifications: - Class 7 Pa. State Inspection License - Federal Inspection Certification - Federal Commercial Drivers License Class A - Heavy Equipment Air Brake Adjustment Certification - R12 and R13A Refrigerant Handling Certificate - Welding Certificate - DOT Medical Examiners Certificate
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Keep oneself familiar with Company equipment.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Follow all state, local and federal regulations pertaining to equipment and fleet maintenance.
  • Responsible for a fleet of 500+ vehicles.
  • Leads employees with assigning, maintaining and scheduling repairs of equipment
  • Will be required to perform maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
