Requirements

Basic knowledge of national and local alarm codes including NFPA 72, NEC, & California Building Code
Must be able to demonstrate responsibility in being on time, regular consistent work attendance, good communication and completing all necessary field documentation as needed
Must have a valid State Fire Marshal (SFM) Fire/Life Safety Technician Certification Card “Blue Card”
The ability to carry and climb step/extension ladders where needed and lift objects up to 50 pounds when needed
HS Diploma or GED
5+ years of experience with servicing fire alarm systems or NICET II
Valid Driver Licenses and acceptable driving record
Must be able to demonstrate basic computer/tablet skills

Manufacturer certifications preferred (ex. Siemens, Notifier, Honeywell, Bosch)
FASA/BASA
10+ years of Fire Alarm Installation Experience

Responsibilities

Install, program, and test fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer requirements.
Supervise installation crews, assigning tasks and ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency on all job sites.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system schematics to determine equipment placement and wiring methods.
Troubleshoot and repair system wiring, devices, and programming issues to ensure proper functionality and compliance.
Perform system inspections and testing in accordance with NFPA, state, and local requirements.
Train and mentor junior technicians, providing on-the-job guidance and technical instruction.
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, company procedures, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate documentation including installation records, system configurations, and as-built drawings.
Communicate effectively with customers to explain system operation, testing results, and any required follow-up work.
Coordinate with project managers, electricians, and general contractors to ensure proper project scheduling and integration with other trades.
