Lead Fire Alarm Technicians play a crucial role of commissioning fire/life safety and security systems and ensuring their optimal performance. This includes loading software programs and implementing necessary modifications to guarantee functionality. Our systems encompass a wide range of components, such as fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals as well as cctv or ip cameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms. You will interface with various trades to ensure the seamless completion of projects that go above and beyond customers' expectations. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team. Our Fire & Security Technicians’ expertise and guidance will play a vital role in shaping the success of our projects and the continued development of our team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm or security systems.
  • Understanding of network components and workstation/server operating system management.
  • Knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting, IP video network transmission, and factors impacting video rates and quality.
  • Experience with access control, AIPHONE, Area of refuge, CCTV.
  • Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.
  • Willingness and ability to differentiate types/colors of wire and use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
  • Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 2 or ability to obtain within 24 months of employment.
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Commission fire/life safety and security systems and ensure their optimal performance.
  • Load software programs and implement necessary modifications to guarantee functionality.
  • Interface with various trades to ensure seamless project completion.
  • Act as a mentor and provide on-the-job training to less experienced technicians.
  • Conduct project site communication and coordination.
  • Participate in operational testing, verification, and acceptance.
  • Run routine reports to review system operation and conduct final inspections and testing.
  • Support customer acceptance and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
