About The Position

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Lead Fire Alarm Technician at Honeywell , you will be at the forefront of protecting lives and property by ensuring the performance and reliability of critical fire alarm and life safety systems. You will lead the programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, and inspection of cutting-edge fire detection systems in complex environments. Your technical expertise will directly support the safety of our clients and the quality of our fire protection solutions. You will work closely with project managers and other stakeholders, ensuring systems are installed and maintained in accordance with industry codes and Honeywell’s high standards of excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in fire protection or a closely related field.
  • Experience commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting complex Fire Alarm systems.
  • NICET level III in Fire Alarm Systems, OR ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA codes, local fire regulations, and industry standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 90%.
  • Ability to pass federal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET IV in Fire Alarm systems.
  • California fire alarm license.
  • Associate's degree in Fire Protection Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot independently and provide mentorship to junior technicians.
  • Notifier Onyx training and/or certification.
  • Familiarity with Honeywell XLS-3000 and ZLS-140 systems a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites 75–90% of the time for several days and weeks at a time
  • Manage your own travel arrangements, site coordination, and reporting.
  • Program, configure, and test fire alarm control panels and related devices
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure operational readiness and code compliance
  • Oversee subcontractors and perform quality checks in accordance with customer requirements and regulatory standards
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and applicable fire codes
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to meet project schedules and quality expectations
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, inspection reports, and compliance records
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project and business objectives
