About The Position

A global financial technology company is seeking a Lead Financial Operations Analyst to join its growing Finance team. This is a strategic, hands-on role focused on driving automation, scalability, and operational excellence in financial processes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and process automation, with a passion for leveraging AI and technology to streamline operations. This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 remote). Candidates must be commutable to the NYC office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial operations related roles (management experience preferred).
  • Strong background in financial reporting, data analysis, and process automation.
  • Proven experience implementing automation/scripting using AI tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and curious—comfortable navigating complex systems.
  • Broad knowledge of financial markets and operational risk management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or FinTech (huge plus).
  • Programming skills in SQL, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with banking frameworks and payment systems.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership (e.g., certifications, blogs, community talks).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute weekly/monthly financial close activities and reporting models
  • Reconcile transactions and maintain accurate financial data across systems
  • Ensure compliance with international regulations and internal policies
  • Lead initiatives to automate reconciliations and financial workflows using AI tools
  • Collaborate with Engineering to reduce manual processes and improve scalability
  • Partner with Compliance, Business, and Product teams to support risk management
  • Advise development teams on financial impact of platform changes
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to building a U.S.-based FinOps team
  • Maintain internal documentation and propose innovative approaches for efficiency
