About The Position

The Electrophysiology Group, part of the Med Tech sector within Johnson & Johnson, is recruiting a Lead Financial Analyst to support Research and Development located in Irvine, CA. This position is local only and not considered to be performed remotely. The Lead Financial Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of financial reporting for R&D operations, including detailed analysis of both operational and capital expenditures by project. This role plays a critical part in guiding R&D teams to meet financial commitments through effective budget management, resource allocation, and strategic investment optimization. The analyst will lead key financial processes such as forecasting, quarterly close, and reporting cycles, while driving process improvements and standardization aligned with SigniFi initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required)
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred; CPA, CMA, or other financial certifications are a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related business functions
  • Experience in the MedTech industry is preferred
  • Proficiency with Anaplan or similar financial planning tools is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of developing talent

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present financial results to senior leadership, crafting clear and impactful messages tailored for executive audiences.
  • Consolidate and analyze actuals and forecasts, providing insights into business drivers and performance trends.
  • Develop and manage a cross-functional calendar with defined deliverables for forecast and close cycles, ensuring alignment and coordination across teams.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, proposing solutions that support business growth while maintaining compliance with income commitments.
  • Influence business decisions through data-driven analysis to ensure alignment with financial and strategic objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to improve efficiency through system implementations, process standardization, and automation of reporting and analytics.
  • Supervise and mentor one Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP) participant.
  • Partner in establishing a new Project Management Organization (PMO), contributing to the design of future-state R&D project management processes and supporting financial frameworks.
  • Support additional financial initiatives and special projects as needed.
