About The Position

New Balance's Lead Financial Analyst will support the North America Retail Financial Planning & Analysis functions including the monthly financial close, monthly forecast, annual budget process and long-term planning. They will also support the Central functions and/or the retail organization as it relates to SG&A, providing analysis and reporting for actuals, forecast and budget. They will work cross functionally with several areas which may include Retail and Product Operations, Planning and Merchandising and the Global Business Unit leaders as necessary to assist with decision support and provide financial acumen and analysis.

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 4-6 years' experience with forecasting, budgeting, cost center management
  • Strong computer skills. Expertise with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task to meet tight timelines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work well in cross functional teams
  • Exhibits strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • All necessary month end close activities
  • Preparation of the monthly forecast with accompanying causals for variance analysis, along with probability weighted 'risks and opportunities' created using financial history, current performance, latest market intelligence, and information from the cost center managers
  • Prepare the annual budget for the areas you support; this includes several iterations based on direction from Senior Management. Includes the preparation for the Budget presentation with SLT.
  • Good communication of month, YTD and forecast results via deck and meetings, to ensure the teams we support are pulling all levers to achieve the organizations profitability goal
  • Provide project support to senior management
  • Be prepared to support other Regional ad hoc assignments as needed
