About The Position

The Squarespace finance team is looking for a highly motivated and analytical Lead Financial Analyst, Investments to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group. This individual will serve as a key business partner across multiple functional areas, supporting core planning processes such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in financial modeling and business analysis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership. This role is critical to driving financial discipline and supporting decision-making through data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • 6-7+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance roles
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • Expert-level Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with planning systems (e.g., Workday, Adaptive Insights, NetSuite)
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and intellectual curiosity
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex financial topics to non-financial stakeholders
  • A self-starter who thrives in dynamic environments, picks things up fast, and takes initiative without waiting for direction
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of workstreams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of turning data into actionable insights

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support financial planning processes, including monthly close, forecast cycles, and annual planning across key business areas
  • Partner with various business units to understand financial performance and support strategic decision-making
  • Track and forecast investment areas such as headcount, software, contracted services, and other operating expenses
  • Analyze spending trends, identify risks/opportunities, and deliver insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with recruiting and people operations teams on compensation analysis and headcount planning
  • Present financial results and strategic insights to business leaders and corporate finance stakeholders
  • Support automation and continuous improvement efforts to enhance FP&A processes and reporting efficiency
  • Maintain financial models and dashboards that help guide business performance and long-term planning
