Lead Fiber Technician - Tulsa, OK
About The Position
The Lead Fiber Technician is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the City’s extensive fiber infrastructure and network, including the management of fiber optic systems installations, maintenance, and repairs. This position entails a high level of technical expertise combined with strong managerial capabilities to ensure efficient and effective operation, development, and enhancement of the city& technological infrastructure. The Lead Fiber Technician will lead initiatives from conceptualization to implementation, including designing system architecture and ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience preferred but not required
Nice To Haves
- Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Completing the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Technician (TECH) certification is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- The Lead Fiber Technician routinely analyzes network performance data to identify potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement in the fiber optic network.
- When network outages or performance issues arise, the Lead Fiber Technician independently assesses incident reports, diagnostic data, and system alerts to quickly pinpoint the source of the problem.
