The LEAD (Leveraging Equity in Academia through Diversity) Faculty Fellowship supports the actualization of Harper College's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion institutional priorities and goals. This fellowship will equip candidates with the teaching experiences, professional development opportunities and mentorship connections for successful career matriculation and retention in Higher Education as faculty members. This is a full-time, paid position dedicated to broadening faculty representation at Harper College, ensuring our students and colleagues benefit from a learning environment that reflects the communities we serve. LEAD Faculty Fellows will have a reduced teaching load during the first year and move towards a full teaching load during the second year. Fellows will observe and shadow senior faculty members, participate in ongoing goal setting and feedback sessions with mentors, engage with shared-governance committees and the faculty senate, interact with faculty and staff campus-wide and participate in a range of professional development opportunities. This fellowship will begin in August 2026 and is a two-year appointment, pending successful completion of the first year. The option to apply for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the end of the appointment is contingent upon current vacancies.
