About The Position

Overview As a member of AFSCME Local 1716, Lead Facility Workers are responsible for ensuring set-up and tear downs for events are completed according to specifications in a safe and timely manner. They are also responsible for basic maintenance and upkeep of both the building and property as well as help in the oversight of all tasks assigned to Facility Workers. This role pays an hourly rate of $27.03-$28.42 (per CBA). Benefits as per the union agreement. This position will remain open until April 17, 2026.

Requirements

  • Lead Facilities workers must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using a combination of skill and abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior conversion or event experience, preferred
  • Prior landscaping or snow removal experience, preferred
  • Prior lead/supervisory role, preferred
  • OSHA 10, preferred
  • Prior forklift training, preferred
  • Prior ride-on scrubber training, preferred
  • Basic carpentry and drywall knowledge, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Must have reliable transportation and arrive for work on time for each scheduled shift, in uniform and ready to work
  • Must be able to work overnight hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to give/take both verbal and written direction
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and reach/lift above head in conjunction with conversion tasks
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Performs set-up and tear down duties
  • Performs daily operations and general building maintenance during non-event days
  • Performs general landscaping of the property
  • Works safely, quickly, and efficiently to meet all deadlines
  • Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • All other tasks assigned by Supervisor
