About The Position

This person will assist with all aspects of maintenance throughout the College facilities. Occasional overtime often on short notice may be required. This position works 18-20 hours during the Academic Calendar and can work up to 37.5 hours during the summer only. This person will provide daily direction to the Facilities Technicians (CPT).

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
Valid and in State Valid Driver's License.
Two (2) years full-time experience as a painter in industrial, commercial, or residential buildings.
Knowledge of chemical reactions from all types of paints, varnishes, and solvents that may be used on various faces.
Ability to read, write and interpret instructions.
Must be able to work on assignments with little supervision.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Set-up, climb, and work from ladders and scaffolding.
Exposure to dust, paint fumes, and harsh chemicals.
May travel between buildings during shift.
Lifting 65 lbs. maximum, without assistance, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.
Work in extreme weather and temperature conditions.

Nice To Haves

Extensive experience in industrial and institutional environment.
Experience in general maintenance duties, such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing and HVAC.

Responsibilities

Provide daily direction to the Facilities Technicians.
Assist with scheduling and quality control of Facility Technicians work.
Support maintaining and stocking warehouse of critical equipment and material.
Attend meetings with or in the absence of Management.
Prepare, sand, prime paint, and finish paint on: wood, concrete, plaster, sheetrock, and steel surfaces.
Mix oil base and latex paints by hand.
Assist other General Services personnel in completing work.
Ability to keep a safe and clean workspace.
Perform drywall repairs and finishing.
