We are seeking a Lead Fabricator As a Lead Fabricator (Welder Fabricator) you repair, assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to specifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to design, fabricate and build basic and/or complex structures, supports or framework.
  • Ability to Weld using ARC, MIG, TIG processes.
  • Ability to perform oxy/acetylene torch, plasma arc cutting processes.
  • Ability to weld both thick and thin materials (e.g. .020" - 2" Stainless Steel, .030" - 6" aluminum).
  • Bending, cutting and welding of tubes and other materials such as thin sheet metal.
  • Ability to use manual mill and lathe to produce required components or parts for fabrication projects.
  • Utilize various shop equipment and tools such as drill press, brake, shear, bandsaw, notcher, grinder, belt sander, punch and various power tools.
  • Operation and proper use of calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, tape measures, scales and other hand tools.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC, waterjet, plasma cutting experience

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret and follow basic to complex blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create various products, fixtures and equipment.
  • Provide solutions to solve complex technical manufacturing and fabrication problems.
  • Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements.
  • Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods.
  • Identify equipment defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Provide general shop support activities in support of machine shop.
  • Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management.
  • Perform all work in accordance with highest quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
